Purpose of the Position
To lead the discovery, design, and delivery of AI-powered solutions that transform enterprise and government processes and drive measurable business outcomes. The Director of AI Solutions will translate market needs into competitive, production-ready solutions through hands-on application of deep technical expertise across data, analytics, and AI architectures. This role is critical to RootLogic’s mission, helping make AI-driven transformation real through product-led innovation, practical, scalable delivery, and support for solution growth and monetization.
Location
Northern Virginia (Washington, DC metro area)
Candidates must reside in the Washington, DC metro area to support in-person collaboration as needed, with a preference for those based in Northern Virginia. As RootLogic Systems establishes a physical workspace and scales operations, key team members may be expected to work in person up to four days per week.
Travel
Occasional travel is expected for in-person collaboration, business development, and client engagements, including visits to government agencies, partner sites, industry events, and enterprise customer locations, based on project needs and engagement priorities.

Key Result Areas and Activities
1. Provide solution thought leadership to shape market-relevant AI offerings
Lead solution discovery efforts to identify high-impact opportunities across enterprise and government domains
Diagnose complex business and mission challenges to define differentiated, AI-driven solution approaches
Communicate persuasively through clear narratives, reference architectures, and value propositions to drive stakeholder alignment and adoption
Contribute solution insight to product strategy, roadmaps, and investment decisions based on delivery experience and market feedback
2. Design and architect AI-powered solutions for real-world operational use
Hands-on design of end-to-end AI solutions spanning data ingestion, analytics, AI/ML, and application layers, with attention to performance and cost efficiency
Architect cloud-native, scalable, and secure solution designs aligned with enterprise and Federal operational and budgetary requirements
Design solution architectures that support transactional, analytical, and AI-driven workflows in production environments while balancing cost, scalability, and reliability
Define data models, integration patterns, and AI orchestration approaches that enable reliable, maintainable, and cost-effective operations
3. Deliver enterprise-grade AI solutions with quality, explainability, and trust
Deliver AI-powered solutions that meet enterprise-grade standards for security, performance, explainability, and usability
Implement CI/CD, automation, and operational practices (including monitoring and AIOps where appropriate) to support reliable and scalable solution delivery
Implement solutions that support auditability, governance, and trust requirements in regulated and Federal environments
Develop reusable solution patterns and implementation guidance proven through delivery to enable consistent quality and customer success
4. Support presales and solution shaping for customer acquisition and revenue growth
Collaborate with product, engineering, and customer success teams to align solution approaches with customer and market needs
Support presales engagements through hands-on solution architecture, technical demos, and proof-of-value development
Contribute technical input to proposals, statements of work, and delivery estimates to support accurate scoping and pricing
Participate in customer workshops and discovery sessions to shape solution scope, delivery approach, and success criteria
5. Research, experiment, and prototype emerging approaches for competitive AI solutions
Research emerging AI, data, and analytics technologies to identify approaches relevant to RootLogic’s solution domains
Build rapid prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate feasibility, performance, cost, and business value
Apply AI productivity tools, automation, and hyper-engineering techniques to accelerate experimentation and solution delivery
Translate experimental learnings into actionable solution patterns, guidance, and inputs for delivery and product teams
6. Support ecosystem partnerships and solution assets for innovation and scalable growth
Support technical collaboration and relationship-building with cloud providers, platform vendors, and solution partners to inform product-led solution innovation and roadmap priorities
Leverage partner programs, training, certifications, and marketplace requirements to accelerate solution readiness, credibility, and scalable distribution
Build and package reusable solution assets, accelerators, and reference implementations aligned with partner marketplaces to enable repeatable deployment and adoption
Identify and shape client expansion and growth opportunities by applying ecosystem capabilities and solution assets across customer engagements
Work and Technical Experience
Experience leading end-to-end solution delivery, from architecture and design through hands-on implementation, deployment, and operational support
Experience designing and delivering cloud-based solutions using one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), with an understanding of scalability, security, and cost considerations
Experience working with one or more modern data and analytics platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Starburst, or with comparable cloud-native data and analytics services (e.g., Azure Fabric, AWS analytics and ML services), including data ingestion, transformation, and analytics enablement
Hands-on experience with Python-based data and analytics engineering, including use of Apache Spark or equivalent distributed processing frameworks, and experience with generative and discriminative AI approaches, integrating AI capabilities into data pipelines, applications, and enterprise workflows
Exposure to business intelligence and reporting platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy, Looker, or Amazon Quick Sight, supporting executive and operational analytics use cases
Experience with at least one modern agentic AI or multi-agent orchestration platform such as Amazon Bedrock Agents / AgentCore, Azure AI Foundry Agents, or Google Vertex AI Agent Builder, or equivalent frameworks, including patterns for building and operating autonomous AI agents in enterprise workflows
Exposure to modern database technologies, including vector and graph databases, and an understanding of how they are used to support retrieval, knowledge representation, and AI-driven applications.
Experience supporting presales and client-facing solution activities, including technical discovery, solution validation, demonstrations, and delivery scoping, with an understanding of enterprise and public-sector security, governance, compliance, and operational constraints in regulated environments
Experience with grants, contracts or performance domains is a plus
Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship may be required for certain client engagements based on contractual requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field; Master’s degree preferred
10–14 years of combined experience across solution architecture, data & analytics engineering, and AI-enabled solution delivery, demonstrating full-stack exposure across the data and analytics lifecycle
Demonstrated past performance delivering at least one large-scale, enterprise-grade data and analytics solution, including responsibility for architecture, implementation, and operational readiness
Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and apply new concepts related to AI, technology, and business transformation in a fast-paced, evolving environment
